Conan O'Brien Rules Late Night

COCO EN FUEGO: Conan O’Brien’s opening night on TBS was a smashing success, at least ratings-wise. The show drew 4.2 million viewers, 3.3 million 18-49 and 2.5 million 18-34 to rank as the evening’s top-rated show, beating Jon Stewart (1.3m, 690k 18-49), then Leno (3.5 million, 952k 18-49) and Letterman (3.4 million, 1.3m 18-49). Initial show guests included Seth Rogen, who got the first bleep (for “shit”) and Glee’s Lea Michele, while Conan joined pal Jack White for a spirited version of Eddie Cochran’s “Twenty Flight Rock.” O’Brien also provided a boost for his lead-out, TBS' Lopez Tonight, which scored the show's best numbers ever. Turner Broadcasting now has two hot new homes for musical acts in late-night. (11/9p)
