ARE LIFESTYLE BRANDS THE NEW RECORD LABELS? That’s the question the N.Y. Times’ music writer Ben Sisario asks in his article about Converse opening a 5,200 square foot recording studio, dubbed Rubber Tracks, in Williamsburgh, Brooklyn, for its client bands, providing them with free time in exchange for promotional considerations...like wearing their sneakers, no doubt.
