Randy Phillips fails to honor commitment

PROMISES, PROMISES: AEG Live ruler Randy Phillips said soon after Jackson's death that Dr. Conrad Murray had been enlisted to act as Jackson's personal physician and was to be paid $150k a month by AEG Live. But because Jackson died before signing the agreement, Phillips argued the agreement was not binding. Further, when Jackson failed to show up for a rehearsal, Phillips allegedly made a personal visit to the artist’s compound and pressured Jackson to get moving. AEG spokesman Michael Roth said the company has not seen the lawsuit and had no immediate comment. (9/16a)
