Toad Lands at Primary Wave

KISSING A TOAD: Larry Mestel's Primary Wave Music Publishing has nabbed another one, signing Toad the Wet Sprocket to an exclusive administration and marketing deal for their back catalog. The band was a radio and retail staple in the '90s, selling over four million albums between 1990 and '97 alone, spurred by a string of pop hits including “All I Want,” “Walk on the Ocean” and “Fall Down.” The socially conscious group lent their name to many causes, most notably the abuse hotline RAINN (Rape Abuse Incest National Network) and Amnesty International. Although officially broken up since 1998, the band, consisting of Dean Dinning, Glenn Phillips, Randy Guss and Todd Nichols. has continued to tour almost continually since 2002. Said CMO Adam Lowenberg: "We believe that now, almost two decades after the release of the seminal album Fear, is the perfect time to strategically introduce an entirely new generation of listeners to the band's exceptional catalog of songs. I know it's a ridiculous name, but my parents insisting on calling me Adam." (9/9p)
