Michael Been Memorial

BEEN REMEMBERED: A Michael Been Memorial Celebration will be held at the St. Anne’s outdoor Grotto (2011 Colorado Ave., Santa Monica, CA) tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. The service will include a performance by his son Robert of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Speakers from different parts of Michael’s life will share their thoughts and memories. The one-time founder of The Call is probably best-known for the songs “The Walls Come Down” and “Let the Day Begin.” He died last month from a heart attack while on the road doing sound for his son’s band. In lieu of flowers or to offer a gift in his memory, please make a donation to MusicCares or The Not For Sale Campaign. To make a donation in his name for MusiCares, click here. The Not for Sale Campaign works to end modern-day slavery. To make a donation in Michael's name, go here. RSVP or questions to [email protected]. (9/2p)
