GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE: Just as our own Roy Trakin did several weeks ago, the L.A. Times interviewed hitmaker Dr. Luke for a profile that will run in Sunday’s print edition but is already online. In the feature, Mikeal Wood gets takes from Barry Weiss ("The world is Luke's oyster, and I don't say that about a lot of people”) and Clive Davis (“When you analyze a track record as strong as his, there's a consistency to knowing what makes up a great pop hit”), along with a revelation from the writer/producer: "I've been asked to be a judge on a really big TV show. You can use your head to figure out which one. And I turned it down. It's not what I need. For me to just be a face on something, I'd look at myself and be disappointed. I'd rather be the person behind the scenes making the show." (8/13a)
