CLOUDY, WITH A CHANCE OF DOWNLOADS: Google’s plans for its own music service, which surfaced last week, are becoming more clear. The Wall Street Journal reports that the first step will be an online store that will show up when users Google a song or artist. The previously revealed cloud-based subscription service will then launch some time in 2011. The latter will work with Androids, enabling users to play music on their phones without having to store it, as the clash of the titans between Google and Apple intensifies—a competition that can only enhance the lives of the rest of us.
