LIMEWIRE KAPUT? U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood is expected to deal a final death blow to LimeWire this morning, if she grants the music industry’s request, filed with the court on Friday, for a permanent injunction against the file-sharing service. The RIAA originally filed a complaint against the company in August 2006, with Wood granting a summary judgment last month finding parent company Lime Group and founder Mark Gorton liable of copyright infringement, a decision that could conceivably cost them as much as a billion dollars. The ruling encouraged CNET's Download.com, which had seen users download the software more than 150 million times in two years, to stop offering LimeWire within the past two weeks. (6/7a)
