POST-SUPER BOWL SALES UPDATE

Following her Super Bowl halftime performance Sunday night, Katy Perry had a pair of albums in the iTunes Top 10. No surprise there. They're still on the leaderboard Monday morning. But the #1 album from Sunday night onward is the newly available preorder for Shawn Mendes’ 4/28 release Handwritten, on Island.

Perry’s Teenage Dream Deluxe is #4, PRISM is #8 and three more of her albums are in the Top 15, all of them priced at $5.99 through Wednesday. She also has 11 tracks in the top 200 of the iTunes singles chart; the highest-ranked is "Roar" at #30.

Missy Elliott, who pumped up the midsection of Perry’s 12 minutes, presently has three tracks in the Top 15. Interestingly, they're priced at 69 cents apiece.

Other Super Bowl-propelled tracks include Sleeping at Last's "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)," featured in Budweiser's adorable-puppy commercial, at #54 (and #70 for the 2015 version), and Harry Chapin's "Cat's in the Cradle," used practically in its entirety in a long-form Nissan spot, at #56.

For perspective’s sake, XLIX was the highest-rated Super Bowl ever, pulling a 49.7. and jumping past 50 in the second half, according to the overnight measurement. Final ratings will be released later today

We’ll be watching iTunes closely for any changes in the coming hours, and so will the rest of the music biz.
