HOZIER GETS TO "WORK"

It's not many current pop stars who claim Alan Lomax as an influence, but the work of the great folklorist and ethnomusicologist, who recorded back-porch blues, gospel, folk and field hollers across the American heartland, can be felt in Hozier's "Work Song." (Lest you think that's a stretch, Hozier acknowledges the debt here and elsewhere.)
