50,000 Tickets To Be Released for BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend

BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw has announced the addition of Catfish & the Bottlemen and Years & Years to BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend, their annual flagship concert.

The buzzing U.K. acts join Taylor Swift and Florence + The Machine; the full line-up will be announced next month.

The free-ticketed event is confirmed for Earlham Park, Norwich on 5/23-24. It will be broadcast live on Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra and steamed with a visual component online here.

Starting 3/31 at 8am, Grimshaw will release 50k tickets in pairs during the Radio 1 Breakfast Show on a first-come-first-served basis. Put that in your morning tea and suck it, eh?

Tickets will be given out by the following breakdown: 55% reserved for those living within the area covered by Norwich City Council, 20% residents with Norwich postcode and 20% residents in the surrounding East Anglian region with Ipswich, Colchester, Cambridge and Peterborough postcodes. The remaining 5% is set aside for other audiences across the U.K.
