Quantcast

THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART

Despite specifying June 30 as the launch day for Apple Music, the company still hasn’t nailed down all of its licensing deals, a source close to the negotiations told Bloomberg. Among the more critical missing pieces is the Beatles catalog, which the Bloomberg story cited as an example.

Of course, the iTunes Store managed to prosper for years without Beatles music, and it’s certainly conceivable the launch could take place without every piece of the enormous puzzle, although that’s a far from ideal scenario given the competition, which wasn’t the case in the digital-retail sphere.
