BADFLOWER AND ROCK'S NEW BLOSSOMING

"Good, Old-Fashioned Rock n' Roll May Have Just Made a Modern Comeback," declares Nylon

With all the funeral orations we've been hearing for rock lately, it's noteworthy that L.A. quartet Badflower is generating considerable buzz for resurrecting the form. "Good, old-fashioned rock n' roll may have just made a modern comeback," declared Nylon today as part of its exclusive preview of the band's single "Animal."

The track, which appears on the foursome's three-song album preview on Hundred Handed Records (due out 6/23 and in preorder at iTunes), is "about obsession, particularly with a vicious person," frontman Josh Katz told the site. Adds Nylon's Hannah Watts, "Lead guitarist Joe Morrow's snaky, psychedelic guitar riffs build to powerful rock rhythms over the course of the song, allowing lead vocalist Katz to smoothly transition from sympathetic verse to violent snarls." The song, she adds, "will unleash what's deep down inside."

An EP from the band is due out later this year.

All of which makes us wish we could do a couple of bong hits and pound some Jack Daniels right now. Well, maybe after lunch.
