Canada and the U.S. are coming together to identify the next teenage pop sensation? That's the genesis of POPMANIA: Life Under the Mic, a TV show being developed through a partnership between Canadian cross-platform content creator marblemedia and LA-based online entertainment company Popmania, Inc.
The show follows the lives of three talented teenage girls as they pursue their dream of having a career in pop music, including tutelage from industry pro Ron Fair—well known for his role in the successes of Christina Aguilera and Mary J. Blige— as they write, record music and interact with fans.
“Popmania: Life Under the Mic is a program that will broadcast on all TV and digital platforms, with a wealth of digital media opportunities that is sure to engage and bring audiences along on this remarkable journey," said Mark Bishop, Co-CEO and Executive Producer, marblemedia.
Considering the target audience has recently been identified by the New York Times as being 60 million strong, sounds like a killer idea to us.
