LIVE FROM BROOKLYN, IT'S TIDAL X: 1020

Tonight, live and direct from the sold-out Barclays Center in Brooklyn, it's the Tidal X: 1020 benefit, boasting one of the biggest hip-hop bills ever assembled.

Performing to celebrate the music streaming service hitting 1m subscribers will be co-owners Jay Z & Beyoncé, Prince, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Usher along with recently announced additions Rick Ross, Meek Mill, T.I., Fabolous, Travis Scott, Nick Jonas, Damian Marley, Alessia Cara and country star Thomas Rhett, with lots of "surprise guests" promised. Knowing Jay Z's inner circle, you're assured nothing but flames and bold names when it comes to the amount of unannounced superstars that could potentially crash this party. Drake is already rumoured to be there.

Priced at $75 a ticket the show quickly sold-out, with all proceeds going to nonprofits that focus on social justice. The demand for seats has led to some aggressive scalping according to SeatGeek, with some tickets going for nearly $5,000 a day before the show.

If you're a Tidal subscriber though, you've got front row seats at your computer for the livestream that begins at 8pm.

According to a report by Variety, Jay Z was seen leaving the Samsung offices late last week, sparking lots of speculation about a possible merger or buyout with the cash-flush hardware manufacturer. Perhaps by December, the Tidal crew will have something else to celebrate: a bailout.
