EUROPACORP EXTENDS UMPG DEAL

EuropaCorp Music Publishing has inked a multi-year extension of its publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing.

EuropaCorp Music Publishing, a division of Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp film and TV studio, owns approximately 1,500 musical works including soundtracks and scores from the Taken trilogy and Lucy. Until 2020, original soundtracks such as The Transporter series and Besson’s next movie, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, will be administered by Universal Music Publishing for the World excluding France.

Music publishing rights is a very specific market with a growing turnover around the world,” Christophe Lambert, Chief Executive Officer of EuropaCorp, said. “Therefore, some of the alternative income coming from the use of our movies is now secured for several years."
