#beckWOW: HERE'S THE NEW ONE

Capitol's Grammy-winning Beck officially dropped new single "Wow," the first taste of the forthcoming follow-up to Album of the Year Grammy winner Morning Phase, Thursday morning around 9am PDT. Watch the just-released lyric video below. As for the highly anticipated full-length, it's due 10/21 and will be up for pre-order 9/9.

The Alternative troubadour has been making interesting use of Instagram for the single’s roll-out. Yesterday, he teased the announcement in typically Beck-ian fashion, inviting other Instagram creators/artists to be a part of the premiere by giving them exclusive audio snippets and asking them to create unique videos, which showcase “nonsensical wow moments,” as one participant explained, using the hashtag #beckWOW. Another participant thanked Beck and Team Capitol for “the opportunity to share art and music in unique ways.”

The collaboration campaign immediately began trending across all socials. He then made all the clips available on his website in a sort-of interactive game, which urged fans to attempt to piece the song together.

Expect “Wow”—out today at iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and other DSPs—to hit radio ASAP, although the official impact date is 6/14.

Fans can also listen to a new interview between Zane Lowe and Beck on Apple Music.

Giddy up, buddy.
