JAY Z GETS "SPIRITUAL"

Amid rising tensions about continued police brutality after the shocking deaths of black citizens in Baton Rouge and Minnesota, then escalation of violence last night against police by snipers at a peaceful protest for the victims in Dallas, Jay Z took a pensive time-out moment to share a song he had recorded a while ago, but knew it was the right time to unveil. It's his first outing as a lead artist since 2013.

Called "Spiritual," the song is now streaming on Tidal for both members and non-subscribers, with a personal statement from Jay that explained its full purpose:

Beyoncé also spoke up about the police shootings from her Formation World Tour currently in Glasgow, Scotland, by showing the names of victims on the screens around the stadium during the song "Freedom." The singer had earlier released a statement on her website urging change through the legislative process by contacting your local politicians. "We don't need sympathy," she wrote, "we need everyone to respect our lives."
