TOGETHER AGAIN: THE BIEBS AND THE BEEB

BBC Radio 1 will visit Justin Bieber in his L.A. home for an exclusive performance on 9/1 as the Beeb’s Live Lounge Month returns with a host of top names.

Usher and The 1975 are among acts that will perform live between 9/1 and 9/30 on the radio show with host Clara Amfo. Every Friday will feature an extended performance: Usher from a secret L.A. location; The 1975 will be backed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Craig David and Sigala and Chase & Status plus a secret special guest are also on the extended bill.

Other names to play throughout the month include WMG stars Clean Bandit, Dua Lipa and Biffy Clyro and Sony’s Olly Murs, Tom Odell and Zara Larsson. From the UMG camp are Blossoms, Jack Garratt and Bastille. Because artist Christine & the Queens will also be featured.

Rhys Hughes head up the programming. This year he helped premiere new Calvin Harris music direct from his California studio, broadcast Kanye West’s first U.K. interview, and arranged a Beyonce listening party on the day of Lemonade’s release.
