U.K. MANAGERS
TO FETE RUDGE

Former Rolling Stones manager Peter Rudge will be honoured with the Peter Grant Award at Blighty’s Artist and Manager Awards in London on 11/24.

The Peter Grant Award, named after the legendary manager of Led Zeppelin, is given annually to a manager who has gained the respect of their peers over a sustained career.

Rudge has been in the music business for 45 years, starting out at Track Records, working with artists such as The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Marc Bolan.

He then started tour managing The Who before working with The Rolling Stones, creating the concept of a national tour with the band in 1972, and continuing to manage their live events and album campaigns worldwide.

Rudge discovered and developed talent such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Il Divo and Manchester band James. He currently heads up Vector U.K.’s management roster under the Live Nation umbrella.

“Peter Rudge has enjoyed an extraordinary career working with the cream of the world’s talent,” Jon Webster, President of the Music Managers Forum, said. “We are very proud that he will be joining us to receive this award.”

Rudge added: “The only redeeming feature of getting old in this industry is you qualify for a freedom pass and can be considered for such a prestigious award as this.

“This acknowledgement by my peers is a fitting testament to my career, the great people who have worked for and with me, and of course those incredible artistes, whose careers I have been fortunate to be a part of. I am humbled and honoured, and almost speechless ... Thank you.”
