VIOLET BOW, REGARDED

Caroline pop/rock kids Hey Violet blasted their way to the top of the iTunes chart here and in Blighty following the release of their Brand New Moves EP Tuesday. The set, which showcases a more synth-driven sound than its guitar-pop predecessor, landed in the Top 5 in multiple other territories, and remains at #7 in the U.S. Caroline's Jacqueline Saturn has dyed her hair pink in solidarity, and is playing air guitar in her office as we speak.

The Richard Griffiths-managed quartet (captured pulling a rarely seen toothy grin out of HITS' own, typically broody Samantha Hissong in the pic to the left) scored last year with the Hi or Hey album I Can Feel It, and went on to nab a Teen Choice Award and a tour with Modest stablemates (and Capitol pop-rockers) 5 Seconds of Summer. The title track from the EP has earned 600k+ Spotify streams already; check out the charming stop-motion video here:
