THE DEATH OF PRINT JOURNALISM: SUCCESS AND SUCCESSION

Sony Music boss Doug Morris and the man who will succeed him as Chief Exec next April, Columbia topper Rob Stringer, grace the cover of our latest print edition. They've set up an exemplary transfer of authority that promises to both honor the company’s legacy and continue to power new successes. Expect both Morris and Stringer to exert their expertise going forward, with Morris serving as consigliere and Stringer expanding his creative purview. But both execs probably started searching for an exit when we came calling for this HITS cover shot (click the pic at left for a larger view).

“Mouth of the South” Joel Katz is this year’s City of Hope Spirit of Life honoree—the org’s highest honor, celebrating his professional and philanthropic achievements. He's also the Contents Page VIP in our last print mag. The beloved barrister serves as Chair of the Global Entertainment and Media Practice of Greenberg Traurig, where his clients have run the gamut from James Brown and B.B. King to Willie Nelson and Kenny Chesney. We wonder if this HITS Contents Shout-Out will cause the Atlanta-based Katz to pen a Cease and Desist letter.
