"To be perfectly honest, the Grammys are of so little interest to me I hadn't even noticed the nominations were out!" says Modest! Management head Richard Griffiths. "I've always assumed they're a stitch-up."
Griffiths' nonchalant reply is one of several industry comments in our story about biz demand for Grammy transparency.
The veteran manager, who has lately steered the careers of blockbuster lad bands One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer, reps newly solo Niall Horan as well as Little Mix, Olly Murs and Hey Violet, among others. He started his career as a London booking agent and worked with AC/DC, held a series of label gigs (at Epic, CBS Records, BMG and more) on both sides of the drink and set up The Firm's U.K. offices in 2001.
You'll find a lot more of Griffiths' wit and wisdom here.
