COWELL RALLIES ARTISTS FOR GRENFELL (UPDATE)

Once again, the music industry has rallied in the face of tragedy as Simon Cowell has brought together a host of top artists in the U.K. to record a charity single for the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire that has claimed nearly 80 lives. Adele, Lily Allen and Rita Ora have been on the scene offering support to the victims and firefighters.

The charity single, which is being released Wednesday, a cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Artists for Grenfell. Those involved include Nile Rodgers, Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, Brian May, Robbie Williams, Emeli Sande, Bastille, Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, Craig David, Jessie J, Jessie Ware, Pixie Lott, Stormzy, Leona Lewis, Louisa Johnson, Geri Horner (aka Ginger Spice), Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones and Louis Tomlinson.

Proceeds from the track will assist the 600 residents of the tower who lost their homes and the families of those that lost their lives.

At 8am GMT time Wednesday, the single will be aired across BBC radio stations and the Global commercial network. The video will premiere Wednesday evening on ITV.
