PERSISTENT LOGIC (UPDATE)

The anti-suicide anthem "1-800-273-8255" by Logic featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid has reached #1 on the Spotify U.S. Top 50. It's now earned 250m+ streams.

The track—on Steve Bartels' Def Jam—continues to grow in the wake of its VMA spotlight. The song is #4 at iTunes, #5 at Apple Music, jumped #16-3 at Shazam, inside the Top 20 at Pop radio and Top 5 at Rhythm. It's even Top 10 on the Global Top 50, meaning its message is getting through in plenty of territories where the titular phone number is meaningless.

The video (below) has earned some 26m views.

As you undoubtedly know by now, the track's title is the phone number of the National Suicide Prevention Hotline; the single's massive impact is both a tribute to the song's power and a sobering reminder of how pervasive suicide and suicidal ideation are among younger Americans. But it's good to be able to celebrate the success of a positive message.
