“Thunder,” the second single from Imagine Dragons’ Evolve (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope), remains lodged atop the iTunes songs chart on Thursday. What makes the situation intriguing is that “Thunder,” priced at the full rate of $1.29, is outselling the #2 and 3 songs, Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” (Atlantic) and Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” (BMLG), which have been discounted to 69 cents.
It’s also worth noting that the Dragons’ previous smash “Believer,” also selling for $1.29, is holding strong at #10. What’s more, Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still” (Atlantic) is currently #5, and it, too, is $1.29. It appears that rock fans have no problem paying full price for great songs.
Meanwhile, interestingly, the 69-cent carousel has disappeared from the iTunes splash page.
