REPUBLIC RECORDS SIGNS LORD HURON

L.A. band Lord Huron has struck a partnership with Republic Records to release their third full-length album, Vide Noir, on 4/20. Isn’t that a holiday for some?

To promote the disc, Lord Huron will start a tour on the release date in Grand Rapids, Mich., and head to some of the largest venues they’ve ever played, L.A.’s Greek Theatre and New York’s Beacon Theatre among them. Tour wraps in Seattle on 6/7. They’ll also play the Innings Festival on 3/24 during MLB’s Spring Training in Tempe, Ariz.

The band will be bundling albums with tickets beginning with Tuesday’s pre-sale. General public on-sale is 2/2.

Lord Huron, who issued their first two albums on IAMSOUND, have released two tracks from the new Whispering Pines/Republic set, “Ancient Names (Part I)” & “Ancient Names(Part II).” We hinted at this deal the other day.

Originally a musical and visual solo project by Michigan-native-turned-Angeleno Ben Schneider, Lord Huron now includes members Mark Barry (percussion), Miguel Briseño (bass) and Tom Renaud (guitar).
