Fox's Deadpool 2 scored $18.6m from Thursday previews and $53.3m on opening day, breaking records for an R-rated film. The weekend opening, albeit not record-breaking, brought in a whopping $125m. Worldwide, it topped $301m. Meanwhile, Disney/Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War became the fourth-largest global release ever. This weekend in America, the film earned nearly $29m, bringing the domestic gross to approximately $595m.
