The Top 5 Highest-Grossing Films in America Over the Weekend

Although Disney and Lucasfilms were hoping to break $100m, Solo: A Star Wars Story only scored $84.8m from the three-day weekend. The movie still managed to debut at the top of the domestic box office. As for the four-day holiday weekend, the studios were expecting anything between $130m and $150m, but ended up with $103m. It's worth noting that the three-day U.S. number is equal to 54% of what Rogue One did ($155m) just five months ago. According to Box Office Mojo, it's also the first of the Disney-released Star Wars films to not receive an "A"; that said, an A- ain't half bad.
