KESHA'S APPEAL REJECTED

Kesha’s attempt to divorce herself from Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe label have been again stalled. A New York appeals court affirmed a judge’s decision to reject Kesha’s countersuit against Dr. Luke, aka Lukasz Gottwald.

Gottwald is suing Kesha for defamation after she accused him of abuse. In her countersuit, which a judge rejected in March 2017, she claimed she was owed royalties and had not received financial support from Dr. Luke.

“Kesha's proposed amendments are palpably insufficient and devoid of merit,” the court ruled Tuesday, adding that Kesha will be compelled to produce documents for Luke’s lawsuit.

“The communications between her counsel and press agents do not reflect a discussion of legal strategy relevant to the pending litigation but, rather, a discussion of a public relations strategy, and are not protected under the attorney-client privilege.”
