APPLE CIRCLING BACK ON LAPSED TRIAL USERS

For three months now, Apple has been randomly and stealthily targeting trial users who’ve opted out of Apple Music with the offer of an additional month of complimentary access. And we know this because…we just got the email.

Push notifications and emails have been sent to lapsed users in several countries, including the U.S., Canada, Britain and Hong Kong, according to a 4/27 post in MacRumors, which appears to have been the first published report on Apple’s covert operation. Each missive contains a unique code to redeem the offer. As the story notes, it's unclear what the exact parameters are to qualify, but it may be limited to users who trialed Apple Music prior to its iOS 10 redesign.
