FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Future’s mixtape Beastmode 2 (Epic) lands at #2 behind Drake’s Scorpion at Apple Music. The nine-track Beastmode 2 is a streaming-only release; its “WIFI Lit” is taking the lead on the Apple Music songs chart.

On the iTunes songs chart, a new single from Signature/Atlantic's Why Don't We, "Talk," has seized the top spot. Prior to that, Maroon 5 and Cardi B restored order following the wholly unexpected takeover of #1 by a cover of John Denver’s “Take Me Home Country Roads” following its release on the Fourth of July. The track is being used in the trailer for Bethesda Softworks’ videogame Fallout 76; the “artist” is a production house, Copilot Music + Sound. Since the game surrounds the concept of rebuilding America, rights-holders decided that 100% of the proceeds should benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Other new singles in the Top 10 are Justin Timberlake’s Tuesday release “SoulMate” (RCA) at #4 and Talk’s “Why Don’t We” (Signature/Atlantic) at #6.

On this lean flipover Friday, the deluxe edition of Years & Years' Palo Santo (Interscope) is the top rookie, coming in at #3. Meek Mill’s four-song EP, Legends of the Summer (Maybach/Atlantic), drives in at #4 at iTunes and #6 at Apple Music. DevilDriver’s Outlaws 'Til the End Vol. 1 (Napalm) is #6.
