SONG REVENUE CHART: THE BUCK STOPS HERE

After experiencing a collective Eminem high the previous week, as the rap legend raked in $1.8m, Streaming Nation has come back down to earth. Whether people have been distracted by the pennant races, the return of the NFL, the Kavanaugh hearings or some of the wettest water ever, as POTUS poetically put it, they’ve been less inclined than usual to play the hits. Just about every track on the Song Revenue Chart generated less income week over week, reflected by the dozens of minus signs running down the Change column of the Top 50.

The big exception to the trend is the Kanye-Pump collab “I Love It,” which has zipped past the competition like a long bomb from Patrick Mahomes to Tyreek Hill, taking in nearly $170k in its first week and putting a big W on the scoreboard. Could it be that the exaggerated boxy suits in the video are a nod to shoulder pads rather than David Byrne.
