FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC
Rock bands ride high this flipover Friday on iTunes while multiple rappers plant their flags in sales and streams.
The much-anticipated full-length debut from Greta Van Fleet, Anthem of the Peaceful Army (Republic/Lava), opens atop the iTunes albums chart followed by Disturbed’s return from the three-year hiatus, Evolution (Reprise) #2. Jason Isbell, an Americana act who knows how to rock with his 400 Unit, slides in at #4 with Live from the Ryman (Southeastern/Thirty Tigers).
Two RCA singer-songwriters see their second albums debut in the Top 10: Elle King’s Shake the Spirit is #5 and Khalid’s Suncity is #7 at iTunes and #8 at Apple Music.
The top debut at Apple Music is Future & Juice WRLD’s WRLD ON DRUGS (Epic/Freebandz/Grade A/Interscope) at #3; it’s #6 at iTunes. The duo’s single “Fine China” is fast climbing Apple Music. Also new at Apple Music is Lil Yachty’s Nuthin’ 2 Prove (Quality Control/Motown/Capitol), which is #7.
The U.S. debut from China’s Lay, NAMANANA (SM/Zhang Yixing) is #9 in the early morning hours while sitting just outside the Top 10 are Hollywood’s Queen collection/soundtrack Bohemian Rhapsody and the Halloween score from Sacred Bones.
At iTunes songs, Post Malone & Swae Lee’s single for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, “Sunflower” (Republic), is #4. Billie Eilish’s Wednesday release, “when the party’s over” (Darkroom/Interscope), sits just outside the Top 10.
