PRIMARY WAVE'S SLY MOVE (UPDATE)

Primary Wave Music has acquired the passive writer royalty income stream from Sly & The Family Stone’s music catalog.

Earlier today, Primary Wave announced that it had acquired all music assets of Even St. Productions, which includes music publishing and master royalty streams of all songs written by Sylvester Stewart, the man better known as Sly Stone.

The Estate of Michael Jackson begged to differ, issuing a statement that read, “The Sly & The Family Stone’s classic song copyrights are owned by Mijac Music, which is part of the Estate of Michael Jackson, and is administered by Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which handles all licensing requests.”

As Sly might have written, "Thank You (Falletinus Set Da Rekkid Strait)."
