TAG THEY'RE IT: SHAZAM'S BIGGEST MOVERS
New singles from Cardi B & Bruno Mars and Khalid, two prominent synchs and a rapper charged with murder populate the biggest movers on this week’s Shazam USA Top 100.
Cardi B & Bruno Mars’ “Please Me” (Atlantic) really has thumbs shifting into overdrive as it races to #3 on the USA chart and #32 in the U.K. Khalid & Disclosure’s “Talk” (RCA) is the other new release getting thumbs wagging.
The premiere episode of Netflix series The Umbrella Academy has brought new ears to Tiffany’s 1987 #1 hit, her version of Ritchie Cordell’s “I Think We’re Alone Now” (UMG), originally recorded by Tommy James and the Shondells in 1967. It’s top 5 among greatest gainers in the U.K. as well.
This week’s other big synch fuels the continuing love affair between Grey’s Anatomy and Snow Patrol—their songs have been used more than a dozen times on the ABC series.
YNW Melly, arrested recently on a double murder charge, has led to his music getting plenty of spins on streaming services and his 2018 recording “Murder on My Mind” piquing the interest of Shazam users.
