THE WOMEN OF DEF JAM: PROFILES AND PLAYLISTS

In honor of Women’s History Month and Def Jam's 35th anniversary, the label is celebrating the women who have made a lasting impact on its legacy. Throughout the month of March, Def Jam’s Instagram is highlighting the careers of some of their most valued employees, most recently featuring Jennifer Hirsch-Davis, VP of Finance and the company's longest-tenured employee, and Ashanti. These women, executives and artists alike, provide strong examples for the generation now coming up.

In junction with the celebrations, Def Jam created a Spotify playlist highlighting 35 years of music from the Women of Def Jam—from Nikki D and Foxy Brown to Rihanna, Alessia Cara and Jhene Aiko.
