MIDWEEK ACTION & ARRIVALS

A number of new releases have been announced this week using inventive social methods, including singles from Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez (detailed here), and Mumford & Sons, and albums from Kesha and Coldplay.

Lipa's Instagram was whited-out on 10/22, except for one post of her dancing on a chair to her forthcoming jam "Don't Start Now." Today there are a series of posts further teasing the new banger.

Gomez' insta post 10/22, one in a series of transmissions teasing "Lose You To Love Me," is a video clip of her at a piano playing the opening chords of the ballad.

Mumford's "Blind Leading the Blind" is mentioned in a recent series of posts on their insta, just appeared on streaming platforms a day early, and will be spun by Zane Lowe on his Apple Music Beats 1 show 10/24.

Kesha first posted a video trailer on YouTube 10/21, along with a series of acerbic infomercials on her insta, describing her forthcoming High Road LP due in December. Then, on 10/22, she alerted her animals (i.e. fans) that her new single drops this Thursday, with a number 1-855-KESHASAVS to call for more info, and a link in her insta bio to preview fan reaction.

Finally, Coldplay emerged from hibernation on 10/19 to cryptically post an old-timey video clip reading "November 22, 1919" to their Twitter, insta and YouTube, followed by a reveal on Tuesday that their new double-album will be entitled Everyday Life. The first half of the new LP will be called sunrise, and the second sunset. It's their first studio full-length since 2015's A Head Full of Dreams.
