THE CHRONIC FINALLY COMING TO DSPs

Dr. Dre’s multi-platinum debut album, The Chronic, is finally heading to all streaming services. Announced by Entertainment One, which houses the Death Row Records catalog, the album will make its digital debut on 4/20, just in time for the holiday.

“Fans now have another reason to celebrate on what has become a national holiday, celebrating all things cannabis-related—where legally allowed and in moderation of course,” shares Chris Taylor, eOne’s Global President, Music & Live. “We are so happy Dr. Dre has opened this door so everyone can experience the brilliance of this seminal work.”

The G-funk masterpiece, originally released in December 1992 on Death Row, redefined West Coast rap and introduced Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Lady of Rage, D.O.C., RBX and more to the music scene.

The Chronic was also recently inducted into the National Recording Registry. The inductees, selected by Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden, "exhibit the cultural, historical and aesthetic importance to America's recorded-sound heritage."

To celebrate, we’ll be lighting up a ceremonial fatty. Happy almost 4/20, folks.
