WEST HOLLYWOOD GOES GAGA FOR GAGA

Lady Gaga got a jump on Pride season Sunday as the City of West Hollywood helped celebrate the 10th anniversary of her album Born This Way by declaring May 23 as “Born This Way Day” and painting a stretch of Robertson Blvd in tribute to the LGBTQIA+ community and the album. West Hollywood Mayor Lindsey P. Horvath also presented a Key to the City to Gaga, saying, “Thank you for encouraging us to love ourselves and be proud!”

Released in 2011, Born This Way has more than 5.8 billion global streams, 5.2m physical albums sold, and 31m digital tracks sold. It was named one of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and is Certified 4X platinum in the U.S.

Gaga is only getting started in celebrating 10 years of the album. Still to come is a collection of songs from the album reimagined by prominent artists from the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition, Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation is sending goods and monetary donations to LGBTQIA+ centers across the United States to assist in their Pride celebrations.
