SAWEETIE CONNECTS WITH eSPORTS COLLECTIVE GEN.G FOR AAPI PROGRAM
ICY/Warner's Saweetie has joined forces with global esports collective Gen.G to host a panel supporting AAPI entrepreneurs and create a series of educational workshops combining gaming with cooking, music, lifestyle pursuits and beauty. They will also work together to launch Saweetie's Twitch channel (6/14) and raise awareness of and engagement with Saweetie’s Icy Baby Foundation.
“Now is the time to come together and support each other as we fight to end Asian hate," said Saweetie. "I'm excited to partner with Gen.G to connect with our fans in new and inventive ways to have real conversations about making positive changes in our community,” said Saweetie.
Gen.G will host the “Supporting AAPI Entrepreneurs” panel on Twitter Spaces on 6/16 at 4pm ET. It will feature Saweetie, Korean-American rap duo Year of the Ox, DJ Bella Fiasco, gaming influencer and host Emily Ghoul, Gen.G VP of Brand Gina Chung Lee and Roxane Harper of the Icy Baby Foundation.
In addition to the Twitter Spaces event, programming will include the Gen.G #WORKFROMHOME Presents “Icy Baby WORKshops” series on 6/14 and 6/16-17 from 6-7 pm ET. Saweetie will learn and teach skills in the categories of Cooking & Music, Fashion & Beauty and Gaming.
Saweetie's Icy Baby Foundation is a nonprofit whose mission is to inspire Black, Brown and otherwise underserved youth by promoting financial-literacy, entrepreneurship and technology training.
