Shanghai officials Gao Yunfei, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee/Director of the Shanghai Film Bureau, and Mo LiangJin, Jing’an CPC Committee member/Publicity Department Director, among other music, tech, gaming, culture and creative executives attended the opening event.

UMPG also launched the Chinese version of its UMPG Window international royalty portal for songwriters, representing UMPG’s first local-language version in Asia.

Featuring live performances by Zide Club, Yingge Yang, Daniel Niu and Shanghai Rainbow Chamber Singers, the celebration recognized UMP China songwriters Chengzhi Jin, Shanghai Ju Feng Yuan Culture and Ziming Li, who were given awards by Jing’an District Mayor Wang Hua, Deputy Mayor Long Wanli and District Deputy Mayor Zhang Jun.

“UMP’s new office opening is a strong support for Jing'an District to continuously promote the development of a multidimensional, high-level cultural and creative industry,” said LiangJin. Added Joe Fang, Managing Director of UMP China and Hong Kong, “We are confident that UMP China will continue to contribute to the value-add of China’s Copyright Industries, a significant part of the State Council’s ‘Outline for Building a Powerful Country With Intellectual Property Rights (2021-2035)."

I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to Mr. Wang Hua, for you have helped us enormously in realizing this dream and made us feel incredibly welcome.”
