A WHALE OF A GOOD TIME WITH FOO FIGHTERS

Foo Fighters have played all kinds of venues around the world, and frontman Dave Grohl once played a show—then an entire tour—with a broken leg. But there’s a first time for everything: On 11/18 the Foos will headline the annual gala for the American Museum of Natural History in New York with a performance under a 94-foot-long blue whale. A fundamental source of fundraising for the museum, the event will be held for the first in two years due to the pandemic.

“We’ve been blessed to be front and center to witness so many of New York’s iconic institutions coming back to life—Saturday Night Live, Madison Square Garden and now the return of the American Museum of Natural History gala,” said Grohl. “It’s an honor to be invited to be a part of something so much bigger than any of us, providing crucial support to critical areas of scientific research and education, and it’ll definitely be the first time we’ve played under a big blue whale.”

Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels are among the chairs for the Museum Gala, which will also feature a dinner created by chef Marcus Samuelsson and an auction conducted by Christie’s.

Sounds like a whale of a night at the museum. Open those pocketbooks and get tickets here.
