REPUBLIC LANDS A LEGEND

To commemorate Republic's signing of EGOT winner John Legend, label co-founders Monte and Avery Lipman and Prexy West Coast Creative Wendy Goldstein joined the multimedia superstar for this soulful in-person photo. Inspired by the experience, the Lipman brothers decided to change their last name to "Icon." Later, Wendy wondered how to sign off of a meeting when you're actually in the room together.

Legend will further solemnize the relationship by releasing a new holiday single, “You Deserve It All,” on 11/12. He's partnered with LG SIGNATURE and will serve as a brand ambassador—stay tuned for the holiday campaign Legendary Gift: The SIGNATURE.

If you're still wondering about EGOT, it refers to the very small group of celebs who've won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award. This is not to be confused with DAC, which stands for participation trophies in Debate, Archery and Chess.
