DISTROKID IS HUNGRY FOR CHANGE

Indie distribbery DistroKid has announced the expansion of its Artists for Change program, opening it up to all DistroKid members and adding more charities to the initiative.

Just in time for the holiday season, newly supported charities include Miracle Messages, North Brooklyn Angels, Vouchers for Veggies, Slice Out Hunger and Support + Feed, a plant-based-meal-donation service run by Billie Eilish’s mother, Maggie Baird.

Artists for Change allows DistroKid creators to direct any portion of their earnings to charity via DistroKid’s built-in shareable-payment system, Splits. AFG launched in beta during the 2020 George Floyd protests and eventually raised more than $50k for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

“The artist community has shown incredible generosity by auto-donating a portion of earnings to important causes,” said DistroKid CEO Philip Kaplan. “We’re excited to expand the program by adding support for these and many more organizations.”
