FWAYGO STREAMS IN

Fwaygo is coming.

No, not Faygo, the colorful soda pop from Michigan; we refer to Fwaygo (sounds like "fuego"), a new streaming platform that—in the words of its founder/CEO, Jeremy Greene, will offer “a TikTok-meets-Spotify music-discovery experience.” For artists, meanwhile, Fwaygo promises formidable monetization and collaboration tools. Expect it sometime after you’ve polished off the last of the turkey.

Team Fwaygo says that creators will be able to upload music to the platform from mobile devices and once “ingested” by the system, that music will be delivered, via a highly targeted AI algorithm, to users most likely to love it.

Beta users have been overwhelmingly rapturous in their praise, we’re told, and these include artists like rapper Young Thug, who’s used Fwaygo to find music and collaborators. Partnerships with several majors and larger indies are said to be underway, and talks are reportedly in progress with TuneCore regarding a distribution partnership.

Stay tuned for updates, and pass the Redpop.
