NELSON JOINS AMAZON MUSIC

Industry vet Madeline Nelson has joined Amazon Music as Head of Independent Record Labels (U.S.).

Nelson will be based out of the company's Brooklyn office. She arrives at Amazon with experience representing the artists (Wyclef Jean), major labels (SVP A&R at Sony Music) and the independent music community. Nelson is a board member of A2IM and the founder of full-service indie label Heads Music.

During the course of her career she has worked with groundbreaking talent, including Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley, J. Cole, Wyclef and BLACKstreet, among others.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Amazon Music team at such an incredible time for independent music,” Nelson said. “I have spent the last 10 years as owner of an indie music company, manager of independent artists and most recently as a board member of A2IM. I am a fierce advocate for artists in general but even more so for independent / emerging artists.”
