The Recording Academy has partnered with health-benefits platform Stride Health to make affordable health care accessible to Recording Academy members and other music-industry folks.
According to MusiCares' recent Wellness in Music survey, 19% of people in the music community don’t have health insurance—with 64% noting they can't afford it—compared to eight percent of the general population.
Stride searches all Affordable Care Act health-insurance plans for affordable health, dental, vision and life insurance, manages users' income and taxes, saves them money on prescriptions, provides online doctor visits, checks for qualifying financial assistance and more.
Stride Health’s services have helped users save an average of $360 per month on health insurance, with 40% paying less than $25 per month for coverage.
The Open Enrollment Period for health insurance for 2022 has begun; the deadline to enroll has now been extended to 1/15 for coverage beginning 2/1.
