Jennifer Kirell has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Catalog & Retail Marketing, at AWAL.
Reporting to AWAL North America President Ron Cerrito, Kirell will oversee and support artist and label partners with strategies to maximize lasting cultural impact, discovery/rediscovery and music consumption.
“Jennifer is a goal-minded, follow-through-obsessed, results-oriented, serial overachiever with a deep understanding of modern music marketing,” said Cerrito. “She is also a thoughtful leader and people manager.”
Over the past 18 months, Kirell's team has collaborated on initiatives involving, among others, Lil Peep, Childish Gambino, CHVRCHES and Dashboard Confessional.
In 2020 her role was expanded to include oversight of AWAL’s U.S. physical business, which grew 53% in 2021 under her leadership. She is also a member of AWAL’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Governance Board.
Prior to joining AWAL in 2019, Kirell spent 11 years with Sony Music Entertainment at Legacy Recordings.
When informed she would be featured on this website, Kirell said she would try not to let it ruin her day.
