DARYL'S SOLO HALLMARKS

Sony’s Legacy Recordings will release the first retrospective of Daryl Hall’s solo work, and to celebrate, he’ll head out on a short tour with Todd Rundgren.

BeforeAfter, which will be released 4/1, features 30 tracks from his solo albums—1980’s Robert Fripp-produced Sacred Songs through 2011’s Laughing Down Crying—plus six never-released performances from his series Live From Daryl’s House. Hall compiled and sequenced the two-disc set.

“I picked this collection of songs from my solo albums because I feel they encapsulate certain periods of my career," he said. “It also shows the diversity of working with collaborators like Robert Fripp or Dave Stewart. Having some tracks from LFDH on it really makes the compilation complete.”

The Live Nation tour starts 4/1 in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre and stops at the Ryman Theater in Nashville on 4/3 and Carnegie Hall on 4/14. A hometown show for Philadelphians Hall and Rundgren will hit The Met on 4/9.
